Hi all!
Non-Logo Contests (Website, Flyer, T-shirt, Brochure etc... Contests) Check them out!
Some astute designers may have noticed that recently we have been getting more non-logo contests like website design jobs and contests, poster design jobs and t-shirt design jobs. These projects are not only an interesting break from the standard logo design contest, but also typically have a higher budget and have more base/paricipation payments which can be reserved!  We've also noticed that there are fewer people who enter these contests!

Some stats!
A typically logo design contest averages 12.4 participants whereas a typical brochure/flyer design contest is averaging 2.3 paricipants!  The last three logo design open brief contests have had an average $400 with a total of 6 base payments on offer.  The last three web design jobs have averaged $833 and had a total of 17 base payments on offer. What this means for designers is that these non-logo contests have less competition and a higher reward at the end of the day.

In short, they are great opportunities to not only explore an alternative field of design, but represent a great chance to get a hefty reward at the end of the experience. Remember, for most website design contests, you don't have to program the website - only create the layout design of the website (Photoshop / PSD files are the standard requirement). If the brief specifically requests HTML / coding / functionality then only submit if you're able to provide this at the end.  So what's everybody waiting for, take advantage of these new projects and start designing! And don't forget to ask the client any questions if you're unsure about exactly what they want!
